Our Programme
The Department of Chemistry has offered the programme of MSc in Analytical Chemistry to train professionals working analytical and testing industry since 1992.
Merit Scholarship, Prof HUIE Wah Kit Memorial Scholarship, and Baptist Chemists Advancement Award are awarded to the outstanding students.
Seminars are frequently hosted to update and enlighten students on the current trends and developments of chemical analysis and also in analytical problems of global and local interests.
Welcome Dinner
Freshmen are joined together to enjoy the welcome dinner in the orientation day.
  1. B.Sc. (Hons) degrees in Chemistry or in other Physical and Life Sciences or equivalent
  2. Have acquired sufficient chemistry knowledge
  3. The medium of instruction is English. All teaching and learning materials are in English. Students are required to achieve at least one of the following requirements on English language proficiency*:
    • TOEFL: 550 (Paper-based), 79 (Internet-based);
    • IELTS (Academic): Overall Band at 6.5;
    • CET-6 (College English Test band 6): 450;
    • Students who had successfully graduated from a bachelor's degree programme that adopts English as the medium of instruction.
  4. Applicants without the required academic qualification but has relevant working experience will be interviewed to assess their suitability for the programme.

*Applicant who has obtained a BSc degree that uses English as the medium of instruction will be exempted from the English language requirements.
