Our Programme
This programme aims to train and disseminate knowledge and know-how to a diverse group of people: those working for the food industries, government, research or non-profit organisations and in the agriculture food chain who carry responsibility for the control of different aspects of food safety in Hong Kong, Mainland China and other countries.
Scholarship
Entrance Scholarship and Distinction and Merit Scholarships are awarded to the outstanding students.
Field Trip
Visit to food manufacturing companies in Hong Kong or Guangdong will be arranged.
Career Opportunities
Graduates will be equipped with a solid knowledge base in chemical, life and analytical science to support their career developments in food analysis and food safety management and further education in related fields.
  1. Applicants should possess a BSc degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Food Science, or other Physical or Life Sciences where suffcient relevant background in biology and chemistry are provided.
  2. The medium of instruction is English. All teaching and learning materials are in English. Students are required to achieve at least one of the following requirements on English language proficiency*:
    • TOEFL: 550 (Paper-based), 213 (Computer-based), 79 (Internet-based);
    • IELTS (Academic): Overall Band at 6.5;
    • CET-6 (College English Test band 6): 450; or a pass in CET 6 for the old version of CET;
    • Students who had successfully graduated from a bachelor's degree programme that adopts English as the medium of instruction.
  3. Applicants without the required academic qualification but has relevant working experience will be interviewed to assess their suitability for the programme.

*Applicant who has obtained a BSc degree that uses English as the medium of instruction will be exempted from the English language requirements.
